One-of-a-Kind Program
Everyone assumes Human Resources knows the laws behind personnel compliance. But there's no single source that really provides fundamental instruction on the laws that underly the employment relationship in New York.
We're ready to change that.
Designed for Growth and Results
Whether you're an experienced practitioner or relatively new to the job, this comprehensive New York employment law training will better position you and your organization for success. This virtual training conference will not only explain key legal principles, but more importantly will explain the sources, structure, and entities comprising the field of employment law.
Hiring & Classification
From job postings and background checks to offer letters and employment agreements, you'll gain a better understanding of the legal parameters surrounding onboarding employees (and independent contractors).
Compensation & Benefits
Beyond the FLSA, New York law imposes a significant number of peculiar wage and hour requirements on employers. Plus, we'll take a systematic look at worker insurance and leave requirements under state and federal law.
Accommodation & Discrimination
Do you realize how far the Human Rights Law expands worker protections beyond federal statutes such as the ADA and Title VII? We'll also discuss additional state laws that restrict employment actions.
Discipline & Termination
Depending on where you've worked, you might not be aware of all the disciplinary procedures that are commonplace in New York. We'll also tackle layoffs, severance, and unemployment issues.
Course Curriculum
Why you really don't want want to skip this class:
Employment lawyers cost $100s per hour. For less than the cost of 1-2 hours of consultation with an experienced New York employment attorney, you'll expose yourself to 8+ hours worth of information that you can consult as you face real-world employee issues. And, while not legal advice per se, this information will better orient you to the potential compliance risks that you're regularly called on to address in your business role. As a result, you should:
- Become aware of critical compliance responsibilities you might otherwise ignore
- Catch mistakes that might have cost your organization substantial financial or reputation loss
- Know where to look for additional guidance
- Communicate more effectively with legal counsel when the need arises
- Be an even more valuable asset to your current and future organizations
